Albert M. Odenthal, age 69, of McKeesport, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011 at his home.  Born January 3, 1942 in Boston, PA, he was a son of Gertrude (Doyka) Odenthal of Versailles and the late William Odenthal.  Albert retired from the electric welding department of U.S. Steel's National Tube Works, and was also a guard at Graterford Prison, a security guard for St. Moritz Security in L.C.B. stores and an auxiliary policeman in McKeesport for more than 30 years.  A member of Corpus Christi Parish in McKeesport and the Glassport V.F.W., he was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a Private 1st. Class in the U.S. Army.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife,, Kathleen (Mader) Odenthal, who he married in 1969; son, Martin (Lisa) Odenthal of McKeesport;  daughter, Dana Odenthal of McKeesport; four grandchildren, Matthew, Zachery, Harley, and Katie; brother, David Odenthal of Versailles; sisters, Joanne Fawcett of New Hampshire and Margaret (James) Heilman of Greenock; also, nieces and nephews.  Besides his father, Albert was predeceased by a brother,  William Odenthal.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles on Thursday, August 4th from 2-4PM and 6-8PM.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00AM in Corpus Christi Parish, with Father Stephen Kresak officiating. Military honors will also take place at the church.  Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
